Excel skills for your next role

Choose the work you want to practise. Each pathway starts with a concrete spreadsheet decision, then links to the exact skills used to solve it.

Find the work you want to practise

Pay below is the May 2025 U.S. annual median for the named occupation, across work arrangements. It is not remote-only pay or a starting salary. Some pathways use a related occupation; read the role page for its scope.

Pay references: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, May 2025, United States, all work arrangements. These are named occupational benchmarks, not remote-only pay, starting salaries or a promised course result. Some pathways use a related occupation; read its mapping on the role page. Bring the source with the answer

Write down the key, unit and rule before calculating. Then inspect an exception: a missing lookup, a zero denominator or a record that fails one condition. Keep the original source so someone else can reproduce your result.

Individual lesson guides explain syntax. Applied guides combine skills into a reconciliation, budget report or cleanup workflow.

Plan for remote work

A useful remote handover explains the question, source, assumptions and refresh steps. Before applying, check the posting’s location rules, hours, contract type and pay currency. GitLab’s candidate handbook is one concrete example of an all-remote employer with country-specific hiring eligibility.

The USD figures above describe the U.S. employee market. An employer can set pay by location and role; GitLab publishes its own local-market approach. Your actual offer may be in another currency.

Choose your next step

Use the diagnostic and interview preparation page to find topics to revisit, or download a task from the six-workbook bank.

Read the certificate criteria and employer interpretation guide before describing course completion as a qualification.
