Excel Practice
Practice, not videos

Learn Excel by typing it, not watching it.

Twelve short lessons and thirty-six graded exercises. You get a real worksheet, you write the formula, and you find out in a second whether it works. Nothing to install.

Why this works

Watching a formula teaches you its shape. Typing it teaches you the formula.

01 / GRADED FOR REAL

Your formula actually runs

Not a multiple-choice quiz. The spreadsheet engine evaluates what you typed and compares the real result.

02 / NO LUCKY GUESSES

Then it is re-tested on new numbers

Type 410 and you are told to reference the range instead. Passing means the formula works, not that the answer matched.

03 / SMALL, FINISHABLE

Twelve lessons, about six minutes each

One skill per lesson, three exercises each. You can finish one on a coffee break and actually remember it.

How it works

Four steps, and you have already learned it.

01
Get a real task

Total the week's orders. Flag the late ones. Find the price you need. No abstract syntax drills.

02
Write it in the grid

A live worksheet with a formula bar, and the keyboard behaving the way Excel does. Hints come one at a time, never the whole answer.

03
Get graded on the result

The engine runs your formula. If the number is right but the formula is hard-coded, it says so.

04
Prove it again on new numbers

Same task, fresh data. A formula that only works for 410 is not a formula.

Questions

Before you start.

The short answers. If something is still unclear, the first lesson covers it in a few minutes.

Do I need Excel installed?

No. Every exercise runs in a worksheet inside your browser, so there is nothing to install and no account to create. The references and functions behave the same way in Excel, Google Sheets and LibreOffice.

Can a complete beginner use this?

Yes. Lesson one is about selecting cells and reading a reference like D4, before any functions appear. You are not expected to know anything on day one.

Is it actually free?

All twelve lessons and their thirty-six exercises. No payment details, no trial countdown, and no account. Progress is stored in your browser on this device.

How is this different from a video course?

A video shows you a formula; you still have to type it somewhere to learn it. Here the typing is the lesson, and you cannot move on without solving the current step.

Which functions are covered?

References, ranges, arithmetic, absolute references, CONCAT, SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, IF, SUMIF, COUNTIF and XLOOKUP. That is a deliberate teaching subset, not the whole application.

Your next Excel skill starts with one cell.

Open lesson one and see what you can already do. About six minutes, no account.
